Once a month, we do a Ride Forward – Age Backwards meetup, in which we embark on a 5 to 10 mile ride (sometimes more). This ride is open to e-bikes, road bikes, mountain bikes, and hybrids—but no motorcycles or mopeds, please. The ride is designed to be inclusive, energizing, and paced for conversation. We roll through scenic greenways, city trails, and quiet backroads, depending on the month’s route. Riders of all skill levels are welcome, and our goal is to promote active living, laughter, and community spirit with every mile. Healthy food options will be available or we will meet for an after ride meal at a local restaurant.
Our ride is inspired by other great cycling communities across Georgia. From the iconic Critical Mass Atlanta ride held on the last Friday of each month, which gathers hundreds of cyclists for a joyful, traffic-slowing loop through the city, to the Atlanta Cycling Festival’s themed rides that bring together urban cyclists for art tours and music-themed cruises—Georgia has embraced bike culture as a way to connect people to movement, wellness, and each other.
We also encourage our riders to explore other monthly rides around the metro area, such as the Senior Cycling Stone Mountain Loop, a relaxed 18-mile trail ride designed for cyclists aged 50 and up, and Georgia Tech’s monthly Ride & Learn series, which offers beginner-friendly urban cycling safety instruction paired with a guided ride. For those seeking adventure beyond the pavement, the Biking League’s trail rides take riders into the state’s best mountain bike parks, like Blankets Creek and Allatoona Creek.
Whether you’re riding with us or exploring other regional meetups, you’ll find that Georgia’s cycling community is vibrant, welcoming, and always ready to roll. So bring your helmet, charge your battery (if electric), and come ride forward while feeling younger with every push of the pedal.
